Process_Description:
The lakes polygons were generated by selecting the waterbodies from a digitized landuse coverage which was generated for the Mexico side of the border. These polygons were put into a new coverage. For the United States side of the border, the lake polygons were obtained from the San Diego Association of Governements (SANDAG) Digital GIS Lakes coverage for the county of San Diego. The lakes within the watershed boundary were selected and placed into the coverage with the Mexican waterbodies. The SANDAG polygons were then compared to the SPOT image used for digitizing the landuse and were shifted if necessary. Attributes were then added to all the polygons.
