Digital reference for heads up digitizing of infrasturctural features.

Process_Description:
Small airfields and airstrips were identified on the NOAA aerial photographs. These sites were located on the SPOT scene of the area and were heads up digitized using ArcInfo with the SPOT scene as a backdrop. Once the topology of these smaller airstrips was corrected, the larger airports were imported into the coverage from the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) Runway coverage. The SANDAG coverage was first reprojected from its original STATEPLANE, NAD83 projection to the Tijuana River Watershed standard of UTM, NAD83. The imported polygons were then shifted to match the coordinate system of the SPOT scene. An item was added to the coverage to hold the name of the airport/airfield.
