Topographic maps from both sides of the international border were scanned and converted into digital images. These images were then vectorized in ArcInfo and edited to correct spatial and attribute information. The vector coverages for each topo sheet were then merged together and edgematched for each side of the border. Finally, the two merged contour line coverages were merged at the international border. From this one merged contour coverage, a digital elevation model was constructed with a resolution of 30 meters.
